Chapter 1: The End is the Beginning

I am in a dark, dark place. Shooting pain in my chest, but aside from that, everything else is numb. No air is resting on my body. No breaths reassure me, no heartbeats comfort me. No, the very assumption that “I live” is being shaken to its roots. But, if I cease to live, I still persist to be. I am aware of my lack of surroundings. Working Title - "The Rocks"Hardened visages set their gaze upon the stony wilderness rolling out before them. Kings had set up their thrones through this desolate terrain; empires had risen and fallen under the might of armies stretching their blades across it. Little evidence remained to mark these climactic events, just a spear here or a helmet there. The graves of nomads, piles of broken rocks and disheveled trees, were the only memories etched permanently onto this desolation. Never had these lands seen the spark of modernity, or the cultivation of ease. Only stern, unmovable, rocks extending on to the horizon. Working Title - "The Rocks"

DeviantArt is not a writer's forum. However, that is precisely what i need.

In light of this fact, and the fact that i've hardly had the internet for some two-and-a-half months up until this point, i haven't put the ol' DA up to very much use. And that probably isn't going to change much.

I've discovered, in the meantime, that there are actually many and numerous writers' forums on the web, and i have now taken up semi-permanent residence at one of them. I hope you'll take the time to meet him.

Anyway, i'll try to mirror as many of my posts as i can so all five of you who keep up with this thing won't be totally out of the loop.
